OTE is pleased to announce that together with our strategic local partner, Alpha Plus Property Management (“APPM”), we have launched the Alpha Family Centre (“AFC”) at Imperial Place, a recently completed social housing estate developed by National Housing Organization JSC (“NHO”). With 1115 units across three 20-storey blocks, Imperial Place is located at An Lac, Bình Tân district, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Situated within a bustling community in Bình Tân, AFC’s immediate priority is to connect with residents so as to better understand their concerns and specific needs. This important ground knowledge will build upon the years of community development work which OTE and its eco-system of partners have done in Vietnam, and will inform our thoughts as to the additional services and amenities which the AFC should offer to residents over the passage of time.
OTE’s mission is to provide affordable housing to the masses in emerging markets with quality housing as the cornerstone of our integrated social impact solution for families and the community, which includes specially curated services such as early childhood education, healthcare and social services. It is our firm belief that the provision of relevant amenities when coupled with positive community involvement, strengthen the social compact and ultimately makes for healthy and sustainable community life.
With the AFC operational, OTE and APPM are now working with our stakeholder partners, domain specialists and volunteers to guide AFC’s initial steps and ongoing deployment. Aside from providing the residents of Imperial Place with the physical infrastructure of meeting rooms and a children’s library, AFC has hosted small group activities for craftwork, reading lessons and light sports.
OTE subscribes to the strengths-based Asset Based Community Development (“ABCD”) philosophy and model for nurturing healthy community life and it is critical to us that residents collaborate with us, offering their talents, gifts and service, to grow AFC’s social impact within the estate and beyond. In this respect, the early signs show promise as residents have been forthcoming with encouraging notes and constructive feedback about AFC’s development.
As mentioned, the AFC builds on years of community engagement in Vietnam for the OTE family and it is hoped that this important and exciting beach head will pilot the first of many platforms within our residential housing estates to successfully grow strong families and nurture resilient communities.
