ROLE : SENIOR SOCIAL WORKER (based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.)
1. We are looking for an experienced and mature Senior Social Worker to
join our Olive Tree Estates Limited (OTE) team. The candidate should be
culturally sensitive, is resilient and possesses a passion for developing
families and communities. As one with a pioneering and adventurous spirit,
he/she must be prepared to be based in Vietnam with a view of embedding
within the local communities there.
2. The successful candidate will be one of the “architects” to establish
the work of OTE’s Family Resource Centres (FRCs) in Vietnam, working
closely with our growing eco-system of social impact/service partners and
stakeholders to conceptualise, develop and deliver our FRCs’ services and
amenities to the families and communities in OTE’s affordable housing
estates.
3. Responsibilities:
a. Ground assessment and community assets mapping
i. Work closely with ground partners to understand and identify needs and
service gaps due to COVID-19 and map existing community assets and networks
in the housing estates.
b. Direct services and training:
i. Provide the requisite direct service practice such as casework
management and counselling support.
ii. Groupwork and workshop facilitation, as well as implementing training,
equipping and capacity building plans for partner staff and local
stakeholders who are supporting the work of our FRCs.
c. Program development and evaluation:
i. Develop community outreach plans and programs for the FRCs which align
with OTE’s corporate objectives.
ii. Work closely with ground partners on the evaluation of programs and
services rendered by our FRCs.
d. Centre management:
i. Set up standards of good professional practice for our FRCs and
supervise the work of OTE staff and affiliates in these centres.
ii. Assess our FRCs’ and partners’ current capacities with a view to
improving the same and aid in the proper execution of programs and
services.
iii. Management of allocated resources, including budget for FRCs and
volunteers.
iv. Maintain good relationships with ground partners and volunteers, e.g
local NGOs who support the work of our FRCs.
4. Pre-requisites
a. A good Degree or Graduate Diploma in Social Work, with approximately 10
years of direct practice experience and 5 years of supervisory experience.
b. Ability to engage community stakeholders and community partners to
co-create initiatives. Strong passion to reach out with experience in
executing asset-based community development projects will be an advantage.
c. Strong interest and prior experience in regional volunteer or community
work will be an important consideration.
d. Willing to be based in Vietnam for a minimum of 2 years.
e. A servant leader who values teamwork, has strong interpersonal and
communication skills, adaptable and comfortable with working with ground
partners.
f. Diligent and able to lead and execute program evaluation.
g. Independent, resilient and with the creativity and rigour to navigate
through the complexities of operating successfully in emerging economies.
h. Committed to driving impact in society, improving lives and transforming
communities.
